WOOD DESTROYING INSECTS (WDI) INSPECTION

The management of termites and other wood destroying insects first requires a thorough inspection by Imperium Pest Solutions.

This inspection will help to determine if an infestation is present, the specific insects involved, as well as the extent of the infestation. Information that is gained must be documented for future reference, and a diagram of the structure being inspected must be made. These details and diagram will help the person responsible for the inspected property to make an informed decision about control of the wood destroying insects revealed.

One goup of wood destroying insects, the subterranean termites, are cryptic and may be difficult to find, and remain undetected in their actiities. It is important to know that their discovery, either from a swarm of the reproductive caste or workers discovered in a shelter tube or in structural wood in a building, is actually a good thing. If undiscovered, termites and other wood destroying insects will continue to cause damage to the structure. Discovery and accurate identification can lead to the proper solutions by Imperium, creating a strategy that will solve the problem.

ONE OF TWO REASONS

WHY OUR WOOD DESTROYING INSECT INSPECTIONS ARE TYPICALLY CONDUCTED

In either case, appropriate and required documents and forms will be available. Imperium will provide these forms to record inspection findings and to give estimates for treatment.

INSPECTIONS FOR WDI REPORTS

  • Property Transactions
  • Required by mortgage holder and title company for appraisal value.
  • Not Required by Texas Law, but if we perform an inspection, a Structural Pest Control Service (SPCS) WDI Report will be required to document the inspection.

INSPECTIONS FOR WOOD DESTROYING INSECT TREATMENTS

  • Usually requested by our clients due to anxiety or fear of infestation.
  • Infestation or damage discovery of shelter tubes, reproductive swarmers observed, or discovery of worker termites during a remodeling project.
  • A "Termite Disclosure Document" will be provided by Imperium for inspections and subsequent estimate for treatments.
